Additional Notes
Almost 88 grams, broken in two, unassayed or regulated after payment of the King’s "quinto" or fifth. Smuggled bars are relatively common from these shipwrecks. Broken, perhaps not by accident. Maybe the smuggler, if confronted, was planning on insisting that the broken portion was the royal tax (although a little short of 20%) and he was going to pay it as soon as possible? The unknown history : priceless. This gold bar: $3700. Visa, MC or AX are just fine. With photo certificate of authenticity.
Cost: $3700
