Possibly by Davison and company, who reduced this design on smaller medals for the official inaugural medal for 1905. The obverse was designed by and signed by Charles Barber and this was the same obverse Barber executed in 1901. The reverse is signed by George Morgan, also similar to the 1901 medal, but this has the 1905 date added to the die. Davison and company took these exact designs, deleted the real designer�s names and added Davison to the reverse. They shrank the size down to 44 mm for the official inaugural medal. I am not certain of the manufacturer of this prototype design with proper credit given to the artists. Nice EF or better, pleasing medium toned brassy patina.
